Whose brain is it anyway?

What type of thinking allows one to see something that isn’t there and create it?

I mean revolutionary, like the zipper, the telephone, the wheel.

Moving from the telephone to the cordless phone to the mobile phone is evolutionary. No phone to phone? Revolutionary - that’s what I’m talking about.

Everything I was taught focused on a variation of a theme. “How would you improve this?” “How would you make this faster/stronger/cheaper/bigger/smaller?” We didn’t talk about what might be missing in the world beyond an iteration of an existing thing.

There’s a certain type of thinking that can go from the smoke signals used by the ancient Greeks and Romans to the telegraph, and then to the telephone.

What’s missing in your world that hasn’t yet been invented?
