Your expertise is your advantage. My job is to make sure your voice carries it further.
I didn't come up through journalism school or spend decades on a corporate communications team. I learned to write where it counted. In the trenches. Working operations and sales support, where the message either landed or didn't, and the difference showed up in the numbers.
My love for helping owners started earlier than that.
Growing up, I helped my dad at his bakery. Not the fun parts, the hard parts. Learning why day-old bakery was important in some goods and expensive in others (margin), making sure quality stayed high where it mattered, and keeping expenses low where it worked (bake a cake, buy pies wholesale). Every investment had to make sense. Small businesses have no slack. When something costs you, you feel it immediately. That's where I learned that words aren't decoration. They're part of how a business works.
Years later, when friends and colleagues started or expanded their own businesses, they'd find me before they found anyone else. Could I look at this marketing copy? Does this media plan make sense? Is this the right message? I said yes every time because I understood what was at stake for them.
I work with small business owners who know their craft inside and out but struggle to put it into words that work as hard as they do. I write the stories, messages, and copy that sound like them on their best day: clear, specific, and worth reading.
If that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd like to hear what you're working on.
